Sania Mirza Defends Anushka Sharma, Says 'She Being Blamed For Virat Kohli’s Zero Makes No Sense’

Many times, Anushka Sharma has made headlines whenever she attended India’s match. The Pari actress, who married Indian skipper Virat Kohli in December 2017, has often been targeted for Virat Kohli’s poor performance during some matches. Most of the times, netizens have trolled the actress for being a spoilsport. Not only this, she was even labeled as ‘Panauti’ for Indian cricket team.

Recently reacting to the same, Tennis star Sania Mirza called out at the practice of blaming the wife whenever a player performs poorly. Yesterday, speaking at the India Economic Summit in Mumbai, Sania hit out at those, who see a woman as the national distraction. She said, “Anushka Sharma is blamed if Virat makes a zero, like what does that have anything to do with anything. It makes no senses.

“Many times, including our cricket team and in many teams I have seen that wives or girlfriends are not allowed on tour because the boys will be distracted. What does that mean? What is it that the women are doing that is going to distract the men so much?” she questioned.

She lastly concluded saying, “See the thing is that comes from a deeper problem which says that a woman is a distraction she cannot be a strength. If we address the problem that a woman can be a strength or is a strength rather than a distraction or a weakness we might conquer these issues.”
